Two new faces were announced during Prime Minister Lawrence Wong's Cabinet Reshuffle ahead of the next Parliament.
In addition, five new faces were appointed as new political office holders.
Here is the breakdown of the new faces and their positions:
New Ministers
David Neo: Acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth
The former army chief will be the acting Minister for Culture, Community and Youth.
Neo, 47, joined the Singapore Army in 1996, and on Mar. 10, 2022, became the first Commando officer appointed as Chief of Army.
In February 2025, he stepped down to run for the 2025 General Election.
Neo will also be the Senior Minister of State for Education.
Jeffrey Siow: Acting Minister for Transport
Jeffrey Siow has been appointed the acting Minister for Transport.
The 46-year-old previously served as the second permanent secretary at the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
Permanent secretary is the highest rank in the civil service, and other notable permanent secretaries who entered politics include former Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat.
According to his bio on MTI's website, Siow led "national efforts to grow Singapore’s economy, and to develop a productive workforce and progressive workplaces to benefit Singaporeans" in his roles at MOM and MTI."
Siow also served as the Principal Private Secretary (PPS) to then-Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loongfrom 2017 to 2021, a role which Prime Minister Lawrence Wong previously held from 2005 to 2008.
Siow is also appointed Senior Minister of State for Finance.
New Political Office Holders
Dinesh Vasu Dash: Minister of State for Manpower and Culture, Community and Youth
Dinesh Vasu Dash will be appointed Minister of State for Manpower, and Culture, Community and Youth.
Dinesh stepped down as the CEO of Agency for Integrated Care ahead of GE2025.
The 49-year-old served in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for over 20 years and left as a brigadier-general,
He then joined the Ministry of Health (MOH) and was appointed the group director of MOH's crisis strategy and operations group during the Covid-19 pandemic.
He was also behind the nationwide Covid-19 vaccination push.
For his contributions to fighting the pandemic, Dinesh was awarded the Public Service Star Award.
Dinesh then left MOH tobecome the chief executive of AIC, asubsidiary of MOH Holdings.
Dinesh will also serve as the new mayor for the South East District.
Goh Pei Ming: Minister of State for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development
Goh Pei Ming was appointed Minister of State for Home Affairs and Social and Family Development.
Goh was the former SAF Chief of Staff and had served as the SAD inspector-general and chief sustainability officer.
He was also previously deployed to Afghanistan.
Goh is part of the PAP team for Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC that saw a walkover during GE2025 after the Workers' Party decided not to contest in that GRC.
Goh Hanyan: Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and Environment, and Culture, Community and Youth
Goh Hanyan will be appointed as Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Sustainability and Environment, and Culture, Community and Youth.
Goh was previously a senior civil servant from the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI).
She was a director in the Smart Nation Strategy Office and the national AI group for policy and strategy before she resigned to run in the 2025GE.
Prior to joining MDDI, Goh worked for the strategy group for the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for close to four years, focusing on the economy and stability.
She previously spent a decade at the Economic Development Board and was appointed as a deputy director for strategic planning.
Syed Harun Alhabsyi: Senior Parliamentary Secretary for National Development and Education
Previously a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP), Syed Harun Alhabsyi will take up the role of Senior Parliamentary Secretary for National Development and Education.
His appointment will begin from Oct. 1, 2025.
Syed, a Consultant Psychiatrist, resigned as an NMP on Feb. 14, 2025. He was appointed as an NMP in July 2023 and left his position approximately a year before his 2.5-year term ended.
Jasmin Lau: Minister of State for Education, and Digital Development and Information
Jasmin Lau has been appointed Minister of State for Education and Digital Development and Information.
Lau was previously the Deputy Secretary (Policy) at the Ministry of Health before she resigned on Apr. 1, 2025, to run in the 2025 GE.
Lau left the administrative service, Singapore's highest tier of civil service.
Lau worked in the Ministry of Finance as a Fiscal Strategy Associate before moving to the Ministry of Manpower as a Senior Assistant Director for Manpower Planning and Foreign Workforce Policy.
In 2011, she began working as the Deputy Director of Strategic Policy Office and the Centre for Strategic Futures at the Public Service Division (PSD).
Two years later, Lau joined MOH, where sheoversawthe development and regulation of medical and long term care insurance in Singapore.
